Upgrade patches take the form of a patch program, which you need to download and run. It will then upgrade the keypoint.exe file in your Keypoint folder.

IMPORTANT: It is important that you BACK-UP your Keypoint folder and your Keypoint project files before starting the upgrade process (copy and paste to a different location). Versions 1.5 through to 5.5 use a new file format so the first time a file is opened you will be warned that the file format will be updated.

Keypoint 5.54 Maintenance Release
This upgrade offers small improvements and bug fixes driven by customer feedback since the last major release in January 2007.

Customers with version 5.53 already have the latest version and do not need to upgrade.

It will also update users of version 5.51 and 5.52 to the latest software version. The main differences are bug fixes, which affect presentation tables.

We strongly recommend that you complete all current surveys before updating.

The main improvements are:

• Improved WYSISWYG (what you see is what you get). Web surveys and printed copies now more accurately reflect the survey design so the form option Use current printer for more accurate screen display has been removed.
• Improved performance for long/complex surveys. Keypoint is now more responsive when working on and entering data for long/complex surveys.
• Improved performance for the management of invitations and the address book.
• Wider range of predefined answers to choose from for choice questions. Up from 39 to 64.
• Updated file and program icons for improved Windows Vista support. The icons can now be displayed at up to 256x256 size.

The Keypoint file format has changed so files will be upgraded when first opened. Users should ensure they have made a back up copy of their files before opening.

  Note: Users of version 5.52 will need to unistall Keypoint, reinstall the original 5.5 version from CD, and then use this patch.

Keypoint Scanning Maintenance Release
This will upgrade the scanning engine from version 8.0 to 8.1. The main difference is that 8.1 is fully Vista compatible.

Installation instructions

• Download the maintenance release here (102MB)
• Unzip files
• Make sure that you do not have your version of Keypoint running
• Copy all the files and folders in the FR folder to:
  C:\Program Files\Keypoint 5.5\Plugins\FR\
  You'll be asked if you want to repleace the files. Say YES to all.
• You can now use Keypoint as normal.
