"The Keypoint scanning module provided an excellent tool for devising the survey form and, when processed, gave excellent options for reporting the findings." Judith Harris, Castlehill Housing Association Overview of Castlehill Housing AssociationCastlehill Housing Association is a public body, and a registered charitable organisation. They have been providing low cost housing since 1971, for elderly, homeless and vulnerable people. The Association currently have around 1400 units of housing stock in management, with an ongoing development and new build programme. Problem Needing AddressingThere had not been a major, comprehensive survey carried out across Castlehill’s clients since 1997. As well as satisfying Communities Scotland, the funding and monitoring agency, Castlehills felt they needed to know how well they were performing in the eyes of their clients and what tenants and sharing owners thought about the service that they were receiving. Why Keypoint?Keypoint was recommended by another Housing Association who had carried out an extensive in-house survey. Castlehill downloaded the trial version of Keypoint from the website and were pleased with the functions it could offer. The pricing was within the budget available and because the scale of the survey planned - a 26-page paper survey, containing 66 question and distributed to over 1300 clients - the Keypoint Scanning Module seemed ideal to ensure the efficient processing of completed surveys. How Has Keypoint Helped Address the Problem? The Keypoint Scanning Module provided an excellent tool for devising the survey form, and when processed gave excellent options for reporting the findings. It was easy to put to use and, given the scale of the survey undertaken, saved a lot of hard manual work. Examples of Surveys Being DevelopedAlthough the survey package was initially bought to carry out this one major survey, Castlehill Housing Association Tenant and Sharing Owner Survey 2004, the Association plan to carry out future mini surveys. Major Successes Resulting from KeypointThe results of the survey have just been produced and are now being worked on to produce an action plan. The outcomes will be used at different levels, in terms of management reviews and localised policies and procedures. The success of the survey is that the Association has been able to gauge exactly what their clients think of them as their landlord. Plans for Keypoint in the FutureThe Keypoint Survey Software will be used within the department for future surveys for specific housing schemes and services. Since originally purchasing version 3.2 the Association have upgraded to version 4 and added other users across the organisation so that more people can create client feedback surveys. |
